Of all the tremendous cultural festivals celebrated in the US, there's nothing more colorful and thrilling than the Mardi Gras festival, celebrated in New Orleans, Louisiana, from 6th January to 1st March. It is marked by a lot of events and parades around the city. It is an event organized by the city's social clubs, and people dress up in vibrant, colorful costumes and parade through the city, and giant floats are driven all over the city. Festival-goers throw light objects like colorful party cups in the air to celebrate the festival. People dress up in gold, purple, and green-colored clothing, which signifies power, justice, and faith.

 

2. Kutztown Folk Festival

The Kutztown, Pennsylvania festival is among the most visit-worthy cultural festivals in the US. It originated in the 1950s when three local professors who decided to celebrate the Pennsylvanian German population in the US. It is one of the biggest festivals in America that starts from the 2nd till the 10th of July.

In 2022, it has surpassed its 60th-year mark, attracting thousands of visitors every year. The cultural atmosphere absorbs anyone who enters the festival grounds and are surrounded by local people adorning traditional costumes, with traditional music playing in the background. If you wish to learn about the Pennsylvanian German culture, you must visit the Kutztown Folk Festival, where you can also try a variety of fresh bread and pastries.

And back to New Orleans! N'Awlins is famous for being the party town of the US, and calls itself the Festival Capital of the World, so it's no surprise that tons of American festivals are hosted there. Even though there are many clubbing scenes and parties held in the city all year round, rarely do you get to see the heritage site and local talent of the people that come out and perform their art. From music festivals, sports tournaments, art showcases, and much more, you get to witness a side of New Orleans that's much more rooted in the culture of the local people. The music-oriented festival happens from 29th April to 8th May, so it's done for 2022, but keep your eyes on New Orleans events using their handy dandy calendar.
