Taking a road trip to the Florida Keys is a rewarding experience. You’ll be laying eyes on a 113-mile journey across islands with some of the most mesmerizing and jaw-dropping scenery. Amidst the diving pelicans, lush mangroves, and topaz waters, there’s a treasure trove of attractions that are historical, educational, and straight-up fun.

Some of these attractions that you must experience when visiting the Florida Keys:

Blue and Gold Macaw, Islamorada, Florida Keys

The sea theater is a combination of the marine park allure and the charm of a family-owned attraction. You can watch the sea lion show, enjoy a bottomless boat ride or hold a parrot. The park’s animal interaction programs like swimming with dolphins is another enjoyable activity that everybody relishes.

Though your vacation may last for a few days or weeks, the history of the Keys dates back thousands of years. You can catch tale of the thousand years by paying a visit to the Keys History and Discovery Center, located on the Islander Resort’s grounds. There are also museums with collections and photos highlighting the area’s native life, artifacts, shipwrecks, etc.

    Dry Tortugas

Fort Jefferson, Dry Tortugas National Parks, Florida Keys, USA

If you thought the Keys were as remote as it gets, you need to visit the Dry Tortugas. This conglomerate of islands stretches 70 miles west of Key and is accessible only by boat. However, even if you don’t have your transportation, you can ride the Yankee Freedom ferry from Key West to Garden Key. Here, you can enjoy a dive with a snorkel and swim in clear waters or enjoy spectacular birdwatching from your tent under the sky.

Dolphins Off Coast of Marathon, Florida Keys, USA

If you love dolphins, you can take a deep dive into the life of these aquatic mammals at the Dolphin Research Center. If you`re looking to fulfill your dream of swimming with the fish, you can enroll for the Fantasy Dolphin Day as well.

      Key Largo

Hawksbill sea turtle swims along Molasses Reef in Key Largo, Florida

Have you ever heard of an underwater park? Key Largo has the first Undersea Park in America, and it’s a place you should go once you arrive at the Florida Keys. There are limitless ways to explore this aquatic attraction, including snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking through mangroves, or heading out on a glass-bottom boat tour.

        Big Pine Key

The Old Rail Bridge In Bahia Honda State Park, Florida Keys, USA

The Bahia Honda State Park is situated on Big Pine Key. It’s a habitat for more than 150 species of rare flora and fauna. Yet, the three unspoiled beaches aren’t only for watching birds; you can do shelling, snorkeling, geocaching, and other low-key activities here as well. This Park is mainly sought for camping as the accommodations range from glamping cabins to primitive campsites.
