1.  Albuquerque, New Mexico

Whether you're in town during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta or not, you should take a balloon ride when you're here. Albuquerque offers the best ballooning weather year-round, so it's the perfect place to take your first ride.

 

2. Pueblo, Colorado

This appealing destination is a perfect stop on your journey because it offers lots of friendly faces, excellent local restaurants, and fun things to do.

At Pueblo City Park, for just 25 cents, you can ride a historic train or carousel. Pueblo is home to a few remaining drive-in movie theaters in America. The Mesa Drive-In offers three screens, each showing a double feature nightly.

There's also the historic Arkansas Riverwalk you need to visit when passing through Pueblo. You can hop on a paddle boat and enjoy mosaic art, sculptures or peruse the farmers market.

Lake Pueblo is another ideal location for water recreation, like tubing, boating, fishing, and swimming. Just a few minutes drive from Downtown Pueblo, you can even sight antelope on your way to the reservoir.

 

3. Denver, Colorado
