You heard it here first folks, New River Gorge National Park became the United State's 63rd National Park on December 27th, 2020, and is West Virginia's first National Park.
One of the most exciting things to do in the newest National Park is jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge, famous for being the highest vehicular bridge in the US and featured on the back of the West Virginia state quarter. Every third Saturday in October annual "Bridge Day" is hosted on the bridge, and daredevils are allowed to jump off the bridge, with the appropriate gear of course.
These are just a few of the things you can do at the new NRGizing park! Checkout more things to do at the National Parks Service website.
