This desert resort city has something for everyone

Located in southern California, Palm Springs is home to hot springs, vintage boutiques, restaurants, and fabulous outdoor attractions. If you're looking for things to do on your desert getaway, here are a few Palm Springs points of interest you can't miss!

Attractions

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

If you're not afraid of heights and you're looking for some breathtaking views, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is something to add to your list. This is the world's largest tram car, rotating and traveling over two and a half miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon. The tramway brings you to the gorgeous wilderness of Mt. San Jacinto State Park, where you'll be dropped off at the Mountain Station, which reaches a whopping 8,526 feet in elevation. Here you'll find restaurants, a natural history museum, observation decks so you can really take in the view, over 50 miles of hiking trails, and much more. Even if you are afraid of heights, it's worth it to try something scary and outside of your comfort zone. Besides, you might be surprised! And come on, the views are totally worth it.

Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park

Known for it's twisted, bristled Joshua Trees and rugged rock formations, Joshua Tree National Park is a must-see when visiting Palm Springs. Straddling the Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert, there is not any part of this national park that isn't breathtaking or interesting to see. Choose between hundreds of hiking trails, rocks to climb and wildflowers to smell. If you're really looking for a great view, check out Keys View.

Keys View Joshua Tree National Park

Keys View  gives you a panoramic view of the Coachella Valley, the San Andreas Fault, and the peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Palm Canyon Drive

If you're looking to add in some shopping while on your travels to Palm Springs, make sure to add Palm Canyon Drive to your list. The main strip of downtown Palm Springs, this street offers amazing vintage boutiques that range from antiques, clothing stores, and chocolate shops to curb your sweet tooth.

Food

Pinocchio in the Desert

Breakfast Pinocchio in the Desert

If you're looking for a great breakfast/lunch/brunch spot, Pinocchio is your place. You can get bottomless champagne for only $4.95 - yes, you read that correctly, only $4.95 for bottomless champagne! Pair that with their delicious brunch and you've got a great morning. Located in downtown Palm Springs, you can make this your first stop for a day of retail therapy. Try the breakfast burrito with fresh guacamole. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Sharman's Deli & Bakery

Choosing between one of their ridiculously delicious lunch sandwiches or deciding to skip lunch all together and choose one of their mouth watering desserts is one of the hardest decisions you'll make that day (probably). Or, why choose one or the other when you can have your sandwich and eat your cake too! This New York Style family restaurant is a great choice for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert. If you decide to have dinner there, you can get special pricing between 4pm-6pm for beating the rush.

LuLu California Bistro

Feeling indecisive about what you want for dinner? LuLu's extensive menu ranges from seafood dishes to pizza to vegetarian and also gluten free options. This place has it all! You won't want to stress when someone in your travel party wants Italian and the other wants a veggie burger because you can get both at LuLu.

Whether you're looking for something scenic, something thrilling, or something delicious, you'll be able to find something you love in majestic Palm Springs! Don't forget to check out our California Travel Map, the perfect place to save your best travel memories.
